Hello All,

Just thought i'd let you know about my situation. I returned to work in Sept 2010 after being diagnosed with RA April 2010.

In Nov 2010 I raised a grievance for Bullying and Harassment, which was upheld although they didnt take any further action against the Guilty parties.

I have an employment tribunal going through for this and the treatment and lack of duty of care by my employer.

I then went on sick leave in Feb 2011 with 'Work related Stress' upto the present date. I had a absence review meeting 2 weeks ago with the director of our department
and I have been dismissed!

I would not have been in this position if I had not been treated unfairly at work, and now because I have been on sick leave because of this treatment they have dismissed me.

I am now going to Appeal against this decision. And I will be adding another claim to the employment Tribunal for unfair dismissal.

Employers think that they can get away with anything I will be standing my ground and will get justice for the treatment I have had to face from my employer.

I have always worked very hard in my position for nearly 12 years and now I am left suffering physically and financially because of this unfair treatment.

Michelle

I just wanted to offer my support. Your employers are awful and it is shameful what thnik they can get away with. I hope that you have some good support from a union etc to help you with your fight. I know Bob who is available on the NRAS helpline would be able to help if you need any further information.

Good luck and I hope you win.

Jackie

Hi Michelle

What an absolutely terrible time you have had with your employers and after twelve years of service with them too, disgraceful to say the least. I can not give you any advice and like Jackie says contact the helpline and they will certainly give you invaluable advice.

Wishing you all the best, let us know how things progress.

Another plug for you to call NRAS and ask for a call from Bob Campbell. Keep strong - we're all behind you, in spirit if not in body xxxx

Hi Michelle,

I am very sorry to hear about your treatment at work, but unfortunately not surprised. I am not surprised you have been ill with work related stress. Very best of luck with your appeal.

Dear Michelle,

What a nightmare situation for this to happen on top of everything else you have to deal with. Twelve years of service this cannot be right. I wish you all the best with your appeal.

Dear Michelle

I've only just read this thread.

My heart goes out to you. You really don't need all this on top of the illness. I'd probably be banned from the forum if I used the language I'd like to, to express how I feel about employers-in particular yours. Although my situation is not as bad as yours, I've had a pretty tough time too and starting back at work on Monday, I discovered that decisions relating to me had been taken with no discussion whatsoever. I'm just about to write up my notes, ready for showdown.
I know that it's only a matter of time before I need to take matters further. There are days when I just want to give up and resign but I know that's what they want. A colleague of mine is already going for constructive dismissal- she too has health problems. Our boss seems to have a track record of targetting the vulnerable- and it would seem that it's often women over 40. I would dearly love to get the b****** once and for all.

Rant over- I sincerely hope that you win.

Love

Maria
